Florida 2014 — Camping Road Trip

In April 2014 we flew to Miami, rented a car, spent two hours buying an entire household worth of camping gear at Walmart, and then drove from campsite to campsite across Florida for three weeks. Noah was almost 4 and had opinions about everything. Vitus was 1½ and had opinions about nothing except that he wanted to be carried. It was our third trip abroad as a family, and the success of this trip gave us the confidence to later plan the round-the-world journey. We visited Dinosaur World, fell in love with the white-sand Gulf Coast beaches and Naples Pier, fed kangaroos at a tiny animal sanctuary, rode an Everglades airboat, and had a SeaWorld visit that we'd view differently today. We camped in state parks under Spanish moss, cooked on propane burners, and discovered that air mattresses deflate at 3am. The boys loved every second. Blog posts from this trip below.
